OL – Part 2

January was a mixed bag. The three league wins gave me a small lead over PSG, who had managed to lose a game, though my first two results culminated in getting knocked out of both domestic cups. Fortunately for me, the board was not too fussed about the cups. Also, somewhat fortuitously, I managed to get through my Champion’s League group and get a fairly kind draw against FC Porto. My passage into the Quarter Finals was sealed with an amazing first leg display, and an overall 6-3 aggregate win.

Despite a February loss to Monaco, I finished the season with a 12 game winning run, with a goal difference of +29. Almost all the way, we were neck and neck with PSG. They contrived to draw a few games in the run in, giving us passage to the title with an impressive goal difference to boot. The title was a two horse race really, with Monaco sitting in no mans land in third, 11 points behind PSG and 21 points above Bordeaux. I’d managed to exceed the expectations of the board by winning the title, and ending PSG’s dominion over Ligue 1.
